Common questions.

Why a five-piece minimum?

Below five pieces, the atelier is essentially building one-offs at couture cost. Five is the smallest run where a sewing line makes economic sense for the work that goes into a single style. For smaller numbers, see our bespoke and haute couture services.

Does the design fee come back if I cancel?

No, but the tech pack does. The fee covers the actual labor of drafting and specifying the piece, which has value even if you never produce it. Many designers proceed elsewhere with the tech pack we wrote, and that's fine.

Are reorders the same price?

Reorders only carry the per-unit production cost. No design fee, no sampling fee, no minimum.

How does fabric pricing work?

Fabric is typically passed through at cost with a small handling fee. We source from mills in France, Italy, and Japan, and we'll send you the actual mill quote before committing.

Can I bring my own fabric?

Yes. Many clients arrive with deadstock or a fabric they've already sourced. We test it for shrinkage and behavior before cutting.
