Questions creators always ask.
Honest answers. If yours isn't here, the form at the top reaches the founder directly.
Do I have to pay upfront?
Standard terms are 50% on tech-pack sign-off, 50% on production sign-off. For drops over $50,000 we structure across three payments. We do not pre-fund production for creators we have not worked with before. Once we have done one drop together, we can discuss flexible terms for restocks.
Can I do drop-ship?
Yes. We can ship pieces direct from Paris to your customers worldwide via DHL Express, with your label, your packaging, your insert. Or one bulk shipment to your fulfilment partner. Or both. Your choice per drop.
What about my label, my packaging?
Standard. We source your label from a French label-maker (woven Damasse, satin, or printed), get artwork approval from you, then sew it into every piece. Same for hangtags, polybags, custom mailers, and inserts. The only Maisone branding anywhere is on the optional country-of-origin spec inside the seam, and even that can be omitted on request.
Do you sign a non-compete?
Yes. We sign a mutual NDA at intake covering your designs, your patterns, and your audience metrics. We also commit not to take on a directly competing creator in your category (same audience size band, same vertical) for 12 months after your launch. If you want a stronger exclusivity, we can scope a longer term as part of the project.
Can I see the construction before committing?
Yes. We will send you one finished sample of a comparable construction, made in a comparable fabric, before you commit. You pay sample cost only; if you go ahead with the production order, the sample cost is credited to the invoice.
What if my drop flops?
If you do not sell through, you keep the inventory. We don't take it back. To minimise risk, we usually recommend launching at the 5 to 10 unit per style level on a pre-order basis, then producing the rest of the run after pre-orders close. The first drop is for proof; the restock is where the real margin lives.
Can I get content from the atelier?
Yes. We can send you behind-the-scenes process footage (pattern cutting, sewing, finishing) shot inside the Paris atelier, for free use on your channels. We can also host a creator-on-site shoot in the atelier if you prefer to film yourself. Studio access is free; travel and accommodation are on you.
What categories do you do?
Streetwear (jersey, fleece, sweats), dresses (day, mid-weight, evening, slip, mini), menswear (suits, jackets, trousers, shirting), swimwear, lingerie, and haute couture. The full atelier is in the same building, so a single capsule can span multiple categories without different vendors.
Why Paris, not Bangkok or LA?
"Made in France" is the most price-resilient hangtag in fashion. It is the single biggest factor that lets you retail at $295 for a slip dress that costs us $80 to make. Bangkok and LA work for volume; they don't put the same number on the price tag.
How big does my audience need to be?
No hard minimum. We have done capsules with creators at 8k followers (luxury vertical) and 1.6M (streetwear). What matters more is engagement and intent-to-buy. Send the form and we will tell you honestly whether your audience size makes sense for the price you want to retail at.
